Why This Job Matters

You will be a key member of the BT Group Finance Controls and Assurance team which is focused on supporting the business to meet its financial control and compliance obligations, including the design and implementation of data analytics assurance techniques in the first and second line of defence.
This role will support driving the design, delivery and reporting of the data analytics assurance over the BT Group’s financial risks areas.

 

Your Accountabilities:

  • Advance knowledge and working experience of applying Data Analytics techniques to Financial Data to support Internal audit and Controls assurance.
  • Maintaining and improving the risk framework and providing management oversight through efficient assurance of internal controls by using underlying financial data
  • Knowledge of applying Process mining to highlight the exceptions and outliers from the standard process and test and assure such cases
  • Lead Designing and supporting the business in advanced data analytic procedures for controls and assurance purposes
  • Supporting various finance transformation programme teams in developing relevant efficient financial controls using Data & Analytics
  • Providing independent reporting of key risks and collating inputs to provide integrated assurance reporting over financial risks
  • Pre experience and knowledge of performing Audit procedure in SAP by analysing the data from SAP tables and testing the exceptions.
  • Delivering the above with pace, drive and rigour, whilst developing team capability and insight
  • Directly influence senior management thinking (typically CFO level) and be an agent of change
  • Educate, support and challenge leaders/stakeholders across the BT finance community to deliver specialist advice and practical financial solutions on the control framework and will be considered a strategic business partner.

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with deep understanding of process area and reporting.

Experience:

 

  • Qualified accountant
  • Recent data analytics assurance knowledge and use

  • Recent external or internal audit experience using Data Analytics
  • Track record of executive level business partnering.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analytics/visualisation tools e.g. Alterx,Power BI, Qlik Sense, Python, Tableau, SAP BIS and Process mining
  • Advance knowledge of data analytics concepts (ETL – Extract Transform and Load) which can be demonstrated through past experiences.
  • Basic knowledge of data warehouses (cloud, on premises etc) and information management systems.
