Role Description
To provide administration of the Finance department’s suite of Reporting, Planning and Business Intelligence systems. The role holder will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of those systems and fielding system administration queries.
The role requires a good understanding of accounting processes in a Financial Services environment, and ideally the role holder will be on the path to becoming a qualified accountant, although this is not a formal requirement. Technical knowledge is also expected, and the role holder should have a basic understanding of Information Technology knowledge areas such as networking, storage, databases, security, etc.
Whilst the role is primarily focussed on delivering support for BAU activities, the post holder will have the opportunity to be involved in delivery of any new initiatives, system implementations and upgrades.
Key accountabilities
BAU support of the relevant systems, including:
- Day-to-day administration to ensure maintenance of systems
- Application of technical knowledge to ensure support issues are appropriately fielded and managed
- Monitoring of automated batch processes
- Assisting with reconciliations to ensure system and data integrity
- Dealing with user queries in a timely manner
- Documentation of procedures.
- Taking part in System Testing, UAT, etc.
- Supporting continuous improvement to meet changing business needs
Skills and Experience
- Some exposure to the following systems: Oracle Essbase, Oracle Financials, Certent Disclosure Management, Clarity 7 Planning & Forecasting, Blackline, Tagetik
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Highly PC literate.
- Ability to communicate with staff at all levels
Qualifications
- Starting on the path towards becoming a Qualified Accountant, otherwise possessing some level of accounting knowledge, preferably around financial reporting and planning.
