Job Description

Legal and General’s Investment Management Data Operations Team is looking to hire a Head of Data Operations (change) to report into the Global Head of Data Operations. Data is key for LGIM as it underpins the effective operation of our business. In recent years, the firm has invested considerable energy and resource into improving its data and, the outcomes it generates.

 

This position will see you responsible for working with key stakeholders across the business and our Data and Tech teams, to drive the design and development of new Data Operations services required by the business. This role is critical in ensuring that designs follow standard Data Operations processing and control standards, that as a part of design and development, a strong emphasis on testing and risk is embedded and that there is strong communication and collaboration across Change, PM, and the Data teams ensues.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking accountability for ensuring that Operational control standards are embedded into new Data Operational designs and that automation is paramount. 
  • Proactively working with LGIM stakeholders across Change Management, Data Solutions, Technology, and Operations
  • Driving consistent, frequent, and impactful communications around all Change within Data Operations, promoting the recognition of and for the value of Data Operations products

Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills; proven team player who can engender credibility and confidence within and outside the company
  • Effective leadership, people management, and team building
  • Results-oriented work ethic and a positive attitude
  • A degree an asset, but not required
  • Asset Management experience is preferrable but not essential
  • Coach the team in strategic, operational and project management skills
  • Design Data Services aligned to our agreed data strategy. 
  • Contribute to the long term Data Operations vision.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Data team and with business stakeholders, offering support and suggestions in the creation of those data services
