As a Hardware Field Reliability & Quality Engineer, you will be the owner of reliability and quality of Amazon Robotics products deployed across Amazon’s global operations.
You will:

• Define reliability baselines of products and systems and develop monitoring mechanisms to proactively identify quality and reliability risks.
• Develop diagnostic capabilities and troubleshooting manuals to assist the field in isolating failure modes.
• Develop mechanisms to obtain field failure data where data gathering is complex and unstructured.
• Lead failure investigations (CAPA/FRACAS) across multiple stakeholder. Drive to root cause identification, preventative and corrective actions.
• Partner with development teams to drive lessons learned into new product designs.
• Develop mechanisms for prioritizing failure and reliability investigations.
• Develop Reliability Centered Maintenance procedures for systems and products. Identify areas for predictive maintenance.
• Identify systemic inefficiency, develop mechanisms, processes, tools, operating procedures to solve systemic inefficiency, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their team and workflow.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams on projects where collaboration is critical for the success of the project. Able to independently propose reliability projects, define scope, milestones, business impact, and engage cross functional teams for collaboration. Must be able to program manage a reliability initiative independently.
• Independently identify ways to unblock themselves, find alternative paths when faced with blockers, provide solutions and deliver results.
• Communicate concisely verbally and in writing to leadership. Will be required to present monthly and quarterly failure and reliability reviews of their product portfolio to leadership.

Basic Qualifications

– BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Computer Engineering
– 5+ years’ Hardware Quality Engineering experience
– Experience with quality tools and concepts including 8D, SPC, MSA, Six Sigma, FMEA
– Experience with Design for Manufacturability, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances, Measurement tooling and fixturing
– Ability to travel domestically and internationally
– Proficiency with Minitab, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access

Preferred Qualifications

– MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Computer Engineering
– CQE, CRE or CSSBB
– Experience with ISO9000, IATF16949 or ISO13485 and quality systems auditing
– Proficiency with PTC Windchill Quality solutions, Reliasoft Synthesis platform tools, SQL, Agile PLM, MS Project, Visio, Tableau
