About the team

The Industry Data Integration team is a highly skilled and collaborative group responsible for managing and integrating a wide range of real estate industry data feeds flowing to and from Zillow Group. With a strong emphasis on data integrity, accuracy, and system performance, the team is dedicated to ensuring a seamless and reliable data integration experience for all stakeholders. They specialize in the configuration, standardization, analysis, and maintenance of industry data feeds, consistently striving to meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

About the role

As an Industry Data Integration Analyst, you will collaborate closely with data engineering and product development teams, as well as various operations and support teams, to drive the creation and maintenance of robust and highly effective datasets across all of Zillow Group and product lines. Your role will involve delivering impactful solutions to address complex challenges within the real estate industry.

You will play a crucial role in providing data integration and database development support to development teams, working alongside engineering to identify and resolve issues related to both front-end and back-end systems. By doing so, you will directly contribute to the enhancement of data management processes, user experience, and overall operational efficiency at Zillow Group.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare and debug all data ingestion processes across various databases, systems, and data sources for all data feeds flowing to and from Zillow Group, ShowingTime, and Bridge Interactive.

  • Validate structured and unstructured datasets from various data sources and prepare it for ingestion.

  • Implement complex data mapping and transformation according to technical, business, and operational requirements for all data feeds.

  • Work cross-functionally with various operations, engineering, and product development teams to build and provide the richest and most effective consumable datasets.

  • Manage various alerting queues, data processing and event logging, and channels that monitor the health of ZG data feeds, servers, tools, applications, and service performance.

  • Regularly perform complex data analysis and investigation utilizing multiple data sources to determine root causes for data integrity gaps and escalated discrepancies.

  • Evaluate new and existing data sources to identify opportunities to improve data management processes, contribute to system development, and deliver impactful solutions to complex industry challenges.

  • Partner with various operations, engineering, and product development teams to streamline and enhance reporting and analysis strategies leveraging complex data to generate insight and identify opportunities for data quality improvement.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $38.90 – $62.10 Hourly. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • 2 years (minimum) in a highly analytical role with relevant experience in Javascript with Regular Expressions, SQL, and Excel, along with some experience using Tableau, Mode, or other visualization software.

  • Strong proficiency in data manipulation and analysis required. Experience with data pipelines, engineering tools and platforms is preferred.

  • Excellent complex problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data representation.

  • Familiarity with software used for searching, monitoring, and analyzing machine-generated data, such as Splunk or SumoLogic.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience working with product teams and communicating regularly with Senior stakeholders is strongly preferred.

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively and cross-functionally, as well as independently, in a remote environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill sophisticated issues and detailed analysis into simple, structured frameworks with concrete action plans.
