Anticipated start date is Fall 2025.
- Teaching: Teach the equivalent of 18 credits per academic year. Support existing and teach new courses created as part of the Institute; these new courses may include any of the following: software engineering, data sciences, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, bioinformatics, statistics, and/or related topics. Some course re-assignments may be made available for scholarly activity.
- Scholarly Work: The mindset of a teacher-scholar who is committed to pursuing scholarly works throughout their careers.
- Advising: The willingness to advise students in their degree progression and in their career options.
- Academic Citizenship and Professional Service: The willingness to serve on department, school, institute, and university committees, and a commitment to involvement in shared governance roles which contribute to the overall well-being of the institution.
- A Ph.D. in computer science, cyber security, data sciences, information systems/sciences, applied mathematics, statistics, supply chain, ethics, leadership, law, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship and economic development or related fields
- ABD may be considered, with the expectation that the candidate will have their degree in hand by July 15, 2025
- A record of scholarly activity (conference papers and presentations, working papers, and/or journal contributions)
- A record of teaching development or teaching activity
- Demonstrated commitment to Gonzaga’s Jesuit mission
- Demonstrated ability to implement inclusive, equity-minded teaching practices
- Candidate must meet the required qualifications of an Assistant Professor and have:
- At least six years of successful experience at the rank of Assistant Professor
- Evidence of teaching excellence
- A well-defined scholarly agenda with a record of scholarship (e.g., publications, presentations, etc.) and a record of external grant support.
- Candidate must meet the required qualifications of an Associate Professor and have:
- At least five years of successful experience at the rank of Associate Professor
- A scholarly record of an established scholar and a record of external grant support.
