We are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst in Amsterdam to support the delivery of the systems and process design workstream for a key project that will support building up our EU platform.

The MBE subsidiary based in The Netherlands is a network of branches (Germany Branch (Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich), Spain Branch (Madrid, Barcelona), Belgium Branch (Brussels), Austria Branch (Vienna)), managed from Amsterdam.

To work under the supervision of Regulatory Reporting (MBE) to support delivery of Systems and Process Design workstream of a key project.

Scope of work and deliverables 

The relevant business and functional requirements are to be detailed based on pre-work already performed. The expected effort will require 3x Business Analysts in the Risk Management, Finance and Data Management domains. The key objective at this stage is to ascertain the feasibility and cost estimate to deliver on these business requirements, to coordinate between different parties involve including EMEA, MBE and HO, and the creation of process to systems mapping.

(2) Desired contractor profile (for Finance, Risk Management or Data Management)

(2.1) Essential Functions:

  • Assisting in the analysis of stakeholder objectives and those arising from investigations related to the project objectives listed above and translating these into business requirements and solutions directions.
  • Working with colleagues and users to investigate and document business functions, processes, and information flows and data structures, using various methodical and consistent techniques.
  • Documenting and maintaining the traceability of requirements through to deliverables on projects / change or improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitating user meetings and presents issues and solutions both orally and in writing.
  • Assisting in defining and justifying (in business terms) initiatives to sure a successful delivery for the different phases of the project.
  • Identifying all the dependences, challenges and risks associated with each phase.
  • Registering the requirement definitions & Management by:

Facilitating and Scoping Business priority-setting;

Contributing to selection of the most appropriate means of representing Business requirements in the context of a specific change initiative, ensuring traceability back to source.

Analysing requirements if they indeed represent a fit for purpose as adhere to business objectives and consistency, challenging positively as appropriate.

Identifies the impact on business requirements of interim (e.g. migration) scenarios as well as the required end position.

(2.2) Education

  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • ISEB Business Analyst certified (or equivalent) preferably
  • Current Prince II Foundation (or equivalent) preferred
  • SCRUM/Agile (basics) an advantage

(2.3) Work experience

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Finance, Risk, Data Management and/ or Regulatory Reporting
  • Product testing / test design experience an advantage
  • Financial Services experience.

(2.4) Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge requirements

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills through English, both oral and written.
  • Good programming skills in SQL
  • Ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to make sense of complex situations and rapidly prioritise issues to take effective decisions.
  • Team player
