To strengthen our dynamic, growing team of engineers and researchers at Sony AI Zürich in Switzerland, we are currently looking for a talented Machine Learning Research Intern.

Machine Learning Research Internship in the realm of robotics directly contributing to one of our flagship projects
 
Key responsibilities:
– Develop and refine ML models with a focus on latent representations and generative models to enhance system performance
– Design and implement experiments to assess the quality and limitations of our current model architectures
– Address limitations by proposing and implementing research driven solutions
– Keep up-to-date with ML research in related fields to drive innovation
– Integrate ML models into real-world AI systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams

Requirements:

– Strong background in Machine Learning (MSc or currently pursuing a PhD in a related field) and relevant work experience with a track record of excellent contributions. 
– Prior experience with un-supervised or self-supervised learning, generative modeling, representation learning or dimensionality reduction
– Prior experience with auto-differentiation libraries and learning frameworks (eg. PyTorch, Tensorflow, JAX)
– Proficiency in Python, with experience in GPU-accelerated deep learning.
– Good command of written and spoken English.
 
How you can stand out:
– Academic publications, patents, and/or open source software in related domains
– Prior experience with (deep) reinforcement learning, simulation environments, numerical optimization
– Prior experience with robotic control, numerical optimization, real-time constrained systems
