In this internship as a Software Engineer at Post-Market Quality (PMQ), you will have the opportunity to work investigating customer complaints escalated from Roche Local Affiliates (L1) and use the Data Science knowledge to work on different tools (Tableau, Thoughtspot, Snowflake, relational databases, etc…) to generate insights from customer’s complaints.

As part of the PMQ Sub Unit you will be able to support the customers at the same time that the product quality is improved. You will also have the opportunity to learn about laboratory automation and software solutions as well as varied regulatory requirements and quality practices in the area of medical technology. In this challenging department, you will have freedom for innovation and creativity. In addition, you will have autonomy and flexibility in how to approach your day-to-day tasks, mentored and guided by more senior members of the team. Responsibilities:

  • Case handling of individual complaints according to ISO Quality System requirements and regulations, and needs of the country organizations.

  • Deep investigation and root cause analysis of customer’s issues escalated by local affiliates. May browse the code repository and consult source code files when required to ensure a correct investigation but never make any modifications in the repository or the checked-in source code.

  • Permanently optimize processes to increase quality and efficiency standards.

  • Participate in the onboarding and mentoring activities of new employees and team members as assigned.

  • Ensures knowledge transfer to new employees.

  • Support actively good spirit and collaboration within the team and the entire organization.

  • Provide work status and issue notifications to appropriate project members and line management as requested.

  • Supports product teams by providing information from cases in order to update product documentation.

Requirements:

  • You are an Engineer and own a:  Graduate Degree from a University in a field related to Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar, OR Graduate Degree from a University in a field related to Biomedical Engineering or similar and you have some demonstrated experience on the Software Development field.

  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken) are essential.

  • Basic knowledge of programming languages: Java/Python/Dart/Javascript/C/C++. You are able to read and understand source code in a programming language.

  • Knowledge of the use of any IDEs (Eclipse, Android Studio, IntelliJ, Visual Studio…) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of databases (SQL -relational- and NoSQL -non-relational-) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of IVD regulatory requirements and quality practices, especially in the area of complaint management (e.g., 21 CFR 820.198, ISO 10002, ISO 9001, ISO 13485) is a plus.
