About Investments

Our Investments team manages RenaissanceRe’s $29 billion investment portfolio, allocating our assets, either directly or through investment managers, to deliver alpha against our strategic benchmark. We invest in a diverse range of assets from treasuries and corporate bonds to equities and private credit to provide capital and liquidity for underwriting risk and paying claims. Our investment portfolio is one of RenaissanceRe’s “Three Drivers of Profit”, along with underwriting income and fees, providing $1.2 billion in net investment income in 2023 to benefit our shareholders and joint venture partners.  RenRe has grown significantly over the past few years, both organically and through strategic acquisitions. 

About Investments Operations

The Investments Operations team is responsible for supporting all Investments middle office activities, including trade support and settlement, counterparty maintenance, compliance, bank account management, data reconciliations and reporting, and performance and attribution. The team supports and works closely with Investments, Treasury, Finance, among other departments to ensure complete and accurate representation of our Investments portfolio.

Investment Operations is expanding to support the growing business demands. We are focused on increasing scalability through digitalization, automation, and streamlining processes to enable continued excellence in delivering to our clients, partners, stakeholders, and employees.  This is an exciting opportunity to join the transformation journey, work directly with the core Investments team, external managers, and on the BlackRock Aladdin platform.

About the Position

The Investments Data Analyst will be responsible for data governance on the investment portfolio’s data, will be working with the Investments and IT teams in providing analysis as support of broader investment processes, trade management and portfolio oversight. We are a dynamic and collaborative team looking to build out the breadth of the department and this role provides an exciting opportunity to directly impact this expansion.

The Investments Data Analyst will be based in the Dublin office and work alongside peers on the Investments Operations team.  We have teams based in Bermuda, Dublin, London, and New York, creating a vibrant and collaborative environment.   

Core Responsibilities

  • Support data governance and quality to provide accurate portfolio data and risk metrics in the investment portfolio.

  • Investigate and escalate all issues where required, working with the broader team, as needed, to ensure timely resolution of data challenges.

  • Review the data quality of the holdings held in the investment portfolio, both those on the BlackRock Solutions Aladdin platform and in our internal investment systems, resolving issues expeditiously.

  • Working with our dedicated IT team, to contribute to the automation of reconciliation processes, facilitating technological enhancements to develop greater efficiencies across the platform.

  • Ensure support for managing internal projects/initiatives, identifying and implementing process efficiencies and guidelines and related documentation.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ of relevant experience in middle office within the financial services industry.

  • Knowledge of investment markets and financial products required with experience in fixed income markets.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills; PowerBI, SQL or other coding language preferred

  • Experience and knowledge of BlackRock Solutions Aladdin and Bloomberg an advantage.  

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; process driven and innovative approaches will be expected.

  • Self-starter and ability to work independently; ability to deliver timely and clear information to team on issues.
