As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Investment Banking – Fusion Data Platform, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives

Job responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Works with an existing development team to create a new Cloud Native platform and migrates the existing data platforms to Cloud using many tools including Glue, Iceberg, Spark, Kafka, Streaming, SQL, Python, Java, etc.
  • Develops and tests new interfaces, enhancements/changes to existing interfaces, new data structures, new reporting capabilities, and enhances ETL pipelines and design solutions,
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Designs, develops, implements and supports the platform
  • Handles Dev Ops efforts in terms of CICD, Scanning, Code, Performance testing and Test coverage
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets and transforms existing ETL logic into AWS Platform
  • Innovates new ways of managing, transforming and validating data, establishes and enforces guidelines to ensure consistency, quality and completeness of data assets

     

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS, Java, Python and ETL development
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies such as  Iceberg , Glue, Spark, Kafka
  • Experience with data analysis, data modeling, data engineering, and experience working with tools and databases such as SQL and Oracle

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Experience in Snowflake
  • Experience with Terraform
