Summary

The Lead Data Engineer leads the overall technical architecture and design of SAP Business Warehouses/eHANA solutions.  Role is accountable for ensuring we have aligned data architecture across all projects, enforcing design standards, and leads a team of engineers and solution architects  in the design, development and testing of data pipelines to enable Data Visualization and Data Science solutions. 

 

This position requires a self-motivated and results-driven leader. 

Job Responsibilities

• Develop overall design of SAP Business Warehouses/eHANA
• Ensure that the delivery of the projects align to longer-term strategic roadmaps
• Accountable for the overall technical data platform, including sizing, configuration and needs assessment.
• Work with managed services team to ensure proper resolution of critical incidents and enhancements
• Partner with Infrastructure team on performance related issues and hardware and software upgrades
• Lead and mentor data engineer team members
• Continually assesses impact of emerging SAP data and analytics technologies against strategic business needs
• Ability to quickly grasp understanding of source data structures, data models and relationships between different types of data
• Develop strong understanding of the data and builds business acumen
• Identify and recommend appropriate continuous improvement opportunities and ensures integrations are automated and have proper exception handling
• Comply with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).
• Perform other duties which are deemed to be an integral part of the position, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.

Desired Experience

• At least 15 years of professional Information Technology experience, including:
• At least 5 years of extensive SAP Business Warehoue/eHANA experience;
• Knowledge of other data warehousing solutions such as Azure SQL, BigQuery, Hadoop, Databricks, or Snowflake, desired;
• Willing to stay abreast of industry best practices and trends and – through acquired knowledge- has ability to take advantage of process and system improvement opportunities; and
• Experience in Consumer Products Industry preferred.

Desired Education

• An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field is preferred.
