Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
This role will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and implementing the new generation of data movement solutions using state of the art technologies. You will be responsible for building the data movement (ETL/ELT) jobs required to feed our data warehouse and the various downstream bank applications. You will also provide support for post-deployment related activities when needed and will be responsible for delivering results in a timely manner using SAFe/Agile methodologies.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, test and implement ETL/ELT data movement jobs based on business requirements
- Provide technical guidance on data movement related issues
- Become the data movement SME on different banking data domains
- Support transformation processes towards a data centric culture
- Perform data analysis and source to target mappings
- Use a mix of open source and proprietary tools to create data driven products and solutions
- Identify, design and implement process improvements (automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, etc.)
- Implement, maintain and extend best practices and assets in line with market standards and guidelines
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
SKILLS AND TRAINING
- Experience in data engineering (architecture and development)
- Datawarehouse, ETL, batch processing tools and concepts
- Experience in Python and/or Java
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL scripting
- Experience with scheduling tools like Tidal or similar
- AWS services and concepts
- Background in the banking industry is preferred but not mandatory
- Agile development (SAFe)
- A team player. Collaborative and communicative. Proactive and able to adapt to change.
EDUCATION (HS diploma, Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree etc.)
Bachelor in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related fields
WORK EXPERIENCE (# of years preferred experience i.e. 0-3, 3-5, etc.)
Minimum 7 years’ experience commensurate with job function

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels are usually moderate.
HAZARDS
The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting. Requires travel to office and branch locations.
