Job Description

Nasdaq is seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience and some domain knowledge in Risk Management to join our team.

The ideal candidate will work with a team of Risk Officers and Data Engineers, be responsible for building and managing scalable data architectures, ETL solutions, API integrations, Risk Reporting and more.

The candidate will have the opportunity to architect, implement, and manage advanced data solutions, leveraging Microsoft Azure and Power BI, and integrate APIs with various SaaS platforms, including those focused on Risk Management.

The candidate will be responsible for optimizing data workflows, improve analysis, and empower our organization to make informed, data-driven decisions while ensuring compliance and governance of our data assets.

  • Build and manage scalable data architectures using Azure’s comprehensive suite of data services. 
  • Data Processing & ETL: Create efficient ETL processes with Azure Data Factory for optimal data transformation and loading.
  • Analytics & Business Intelligence: Utilize Power BI for creating detailed dashboards and reports, making data insightful and actionable.
  • API Integrations: Implement seamless API integrations with external SaaS platforms, facilitating automated data exchanges and expanding our data ecosystem’s capabilities.
  • SaaS Risk Management Tools: Leverage your experience with SaaS tools for Risk Management to enhance our data security and compliance frameworks, contributing valuable insights into risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Data Security & Compliance: Ensure rigorous data security standards, maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements during API integrations and within the Azure environment.

  • Data Governance: Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure the quality, integrity, and security of our data assets.
  • Performance Optimization: Regularly assess and enhance the performance of data systems and integrations to ensure scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Engage with stakeholders to understand data needs and explore integration opportunities, staying ahead of trends in Azure services, Power BI, API technologies, and Risk Management tools.
  • Mentors others in developing the technology platform on AWS cloud and provides options to leadership on which platforms makes most sense.
  • Provides systems strategy for development of technical and operational standards, procedures and technical documentation.
  • Create guidelines for developing performance metrics.
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of different platforms as the Nasdaq’s new technologies influences future platform choices.
  • Responsible for managing the big data infrastructure for Nasdaq Data Platforms production and development environments.
  • Is the technical lead on project teams defining needs.
  • Develops data/information quality metrics, researches new technology and develops cases to support enterprise-wide business intelligence solution.
  • Uses data modeling technique s and tools in analyzing and specifying data structures to be implemented within an application system.
  • Defines logical views and works with the database administrators to create physical data structures.
  • Performs work in various situations or disciplines and of differing levels of complexities.
  • Aware of technological trends and competitive landscape and incorporates into designing solutions.
  • Provides deep domain and industry expertise to design and develop create solutions.
  • Is the functional expert that mentors others in the team.
