Machine Learning Engineer

Hybrid, 2 days on-site required in Herndon, VA

Job Specifications/Requirements:

    • 5+ years of professional experience as a data scientist or ML engineer
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Data Science
    • Expertise in data cleaning and preprocessing techniques to handle noisy, incomplete, or inconsistent data
    • Experience with data manipulation, analysis, and visualization libraries (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn).
    • Solid understanding of statistical concepts (e.g. metrics, error types, distributions)
    • Proficiency with machine learning frameworks and related libraries (e.g. PyTorch, scikit-learn, XGBoost, spaCy)
    • Experience building ML/AI capabilities to solve NLP problems (e.g. text classification, text summarization, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis)
    • Knowledgeable about deep learning architectures (Feed Forward, Transformers, CNNs, RNNs, GANs)
    • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
    • Exhibits technical curiosity and a passion for innovating
    • Proficient in Python
    • Comfortable working in a Linux environment
    • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
    • Familiarity with CI/CD automation tools such as Jenkins, GitOps, CodePipeline
    • Experience with version control systems, preferable Git
    • Experience with MLOps including building, evaluating, deploying, scaling, and validating ML models in a production environment
    • Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) – prompt engineering, prompt chaining, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), hallucination mitigation
    • Experience utilizing the latest Generative AI Technologies (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc)
    • Experience working with Jupyter notebooks and/or JupyterLab
    • Experience working within the Agile framework
