Overview

As a Data Science Manager within Cotiviti you will be responsible for running a team of data scientists who create solutions that help our clients identify payment integrity issues, reduce the cost of healthcare processes, or improve the quality of healthcare outcomes. You will work as part of a team and will be responsible for mentoring a team and managing the delivery of value associated with your team’s projects.

This role is not for the research oriented data scientist, but rather should be of interest to those that want to apply their knowledge and experience to real world problems, and seek to utilize Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to reduce the cost of healthcare and improve health quality and outcomes. With access to dedicated on premise and cloud based big data solutions, the team can work with a vast amount of structured and unstructured data including claims, membership, physician demographics, medical records and others to begin to solve some of the most pressing healthcare issues of our time.

Data Scientists at Cotiviti will be given the opportunity to work directly with a team of healthcare professionals including analysts, clinicians, coding specialists, auditors and innovators to set aggressive goals and execute on them with the team.

You will be expected to follow processes and practices that allow your models to be incorporated into our machine learning platform for production execution and monitoring, however, initial exploratory data analysis allows for more flexible experimentation to discover solutions to the business problems presented.

 

Responsibilities

  • A Data Science Manager will recruit, lead and lead a high quality, creative, visionary data science team that is focused on deploying value adding machine learning models.
  • He/she will work closely with business teams, technology teams and operations teams in different parts of our organization and make a huge, measurable impact to different stakeholders within the company.
  • He/she will build and innovate solutions that are robust, scalable and maintainable.
  • He/she will have to be comfortable conversing with, collaborating with and persuading product, business and technology teams alike, and are poised and polished when presenting to senior level executives.
  • He/she will play a key role on building and maintaining the Machine learning solutions
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

  • Should have at least 4 years on building machine learning models.
  • Must have deployed multiple measurable, value adding machine learning models to production.
  • Proven experience forming partnerships with and influencing cross-functional leaders
  • Proven communication skills and experience connecting with and influencing a broad spectrum of audiences
  • Proven judgment in balancing practical business needs and scientific rigor
  • Experience developing machine learning models in an exploratory data analytics environment and working with others to develop production ready versions of the models that are deployed within operational environments
  • Experience in using machine learning tools to develop production strength models including, but not limited to, Python, TensorFlow, Keraes, pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, spark, scala, hive, impala
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other technical field.
  • MA/MS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other technical fields is desired
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.

Base compensation ranges from $142,500 to $174,500. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
