The role of Agilent’s Segment Marketing and Marketing Intelligence Team is to provide market and customer insights to characterize new markets, develop new products, support the development and execution of marketing strategy, and use internal and external data sources to inform business decisions. We are looking for a business analyst to support the development of predictive market models, help drive our market sensing activities, collate and curate internal and external data and prepare information to presentation to senior business leaders to inform business decisions.

To undertake this role, you will have proven quantitative modeling skills and preferably market modeling experience. A background in market and competitive research experience is preferred. You should have the ability to organize and interpret unstructured data from a variety of sources for purposes of developing market and business case models.

You should have knowledge in the analytical tools industry as well as an understanding of the technologies and segmentation used across different end-markets (Pharma, Food, Environmental, Chemical, Energy, Materials & Forensics).

Role Specific Duties:

  • Management of the analytical industry (ALDA) platform market share survey process; preparing Agilent submissions to ALDA as well as the associated internal reports and analysis distributed within the Company.

  • Preparing reports on competitor activity and insight generation of competitor strategic direction from public sources. This will involve research from various market reports and other secondary source scanning, together with intelligence gained from any other available sources.

  • Analyzing market data to identify trends/opportunities, develop strategic direction from market information, and create compelling market analysis presentations.

  • Working with key internal stakeholders to assess market opportunities to inform business decisions and enable “Go to Market” strategy development.

  • Creating executive-level presentations summarizing market and competitive information derived from a wide variety of sources.

  • Using AI tools and third-party consultants to ID, vet, source and summarize competitive and market intelligence.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience in a similar role.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in related field of science. A master’s in business administration degree is desirable.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including macro programming, pivot tables, and functions such as INDEX, MATCH and INDIRECT. Must be able to create and update complex Excel models with dozens of interrelated tabs.

  • Experience with data analysis and visualizations tools such as Qlik, Tableaux, Microsoft Power BI, etc. is highly desirable.

  • Experience using software and visualization tools to develop coherent and concise executive level presentations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Location within driving distance of Santa Clara office is highly desirable.

The US pay range for this full-time position is $127,680.00 – $235,410.00/yr, plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum new hire pay for the position across the relevant US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Canada pay range for this full-time position is  108,800-170,000 /yr CAD, plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
