Summary:

 

This role is responsible for the creation/development, implementation, updating and maintenance of master data policies, procedures, and work instructions. This position will work closely with our Global Master Data Management (MDM) team, IT and cross-functionally to identify and correct any potential gaps within our documentation to ensure global compliance. The position will also be responsible for ensuring document revision control, document categorization, electronic document management, and for aligning all documentation to a Global MDM training matrix. Additionally, this position will lead master data documentation, training and user acceptance training (UAT) relating to the Fit for Growth project (migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA).

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Leads the development, implementation, updating and maintenance of organizational policies, procedures, and work instructions related to global master data management (MDM) business processes.
  • Creates end-user training materials relating to S/4HANA and other tools used to execute and support global MDM business processes.
  • Reviews and edits existing master data-related documentation for accuracy, completeness, and global compliance.
  • Ensures all master data-related documents are properly classified/indexed, filed, and maintained in accordance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Monitors document usage, access, and retention to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to establish standard master data related documentation templates.
  • Creates and maintains Global MDM training curriculum/matrix defined by business role/function.
  • Co-leads master data governance activities to ensure master data integrity within S/4HANA and in alignment with documented business processes and master data governance rules.
  • Creates user acceptance test (UAT) scripts related to the execution of global master data processes within S/4HANA, SAP’s Master Data Governance (MDG) tool, and other tools used by the global MDM team.
  • Co-leads the creation and oversight of MDM governance policies around core master data objects – Customer, Material, Supplier/Vendor, and RTR
  • Supports the creation and oversight of MDM governance policies related to conditional master data objects as needed.
  • Leads improvement projects from a global master data management documentation perspective.

 

Essential Functions of the Role

  • Fully Competent in principles and practices of documentation.
  • Maintains current knowledge of business and technological trends.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, off-hours for project related activity and meetings.
  • Travel via plane or automobile both locally and internationally if necessary.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems or other business-related field
  • 5+ years in documentation creation and management experience.
  • Experience with at least one enterprise Master Data Management Tool such as Informatica, Talend, IBM, or comparable.
  • Understanding of appropriate business domain models and MDM Scenarios preferred.
  • Previous experience in master data processing and ERP systems, preferably SAP ECC, S4 HANA.
  • Certifications with MDM tools a plus.

  • Understanding of modern Master Data Management Concepts and Data Quality approaches, tools, techniques, vendor landscape, and best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in team-based environment with multiple functional groups.
