What does this role include?
The MLOps Engineer role sits within our Data Analytics and Insights team, part of the Technology & Digital Development (Tⅅ) business unit, reporting to the Data Analytics Development Manager. The Data Analytics and Insights team provides Danske Bank with a centralised data reporting and analytics services across multiple Bank functions.
The purpose of the MLOps Engineer is to bolster Danske Bank UK’s GenAI initiatives by focusing on the development of the underlying infrastructure for our applications. This is a new role within Tⅅ, with business requirements still being defined around GenAI utilisation for the Bank. Therefore, the successful candidate must be willing to have an open mindset, to adapt with business needs and the ability to use their initiative to overcome obstacles. Collaboration across Tⅅ teams as well as Group functions is essential for success. Building relationships, partnering with teams across the Bank, using influencing skills to gain trust and drive deliverables are all key skills for this role.
Essential skills
- Evidence of strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Ability to design and implement cloud solutions and ability to build MLOps pipelines on cloud solutions (AWS, MS Azure or GCP)
- Experience with MLOps Frameworks like Kubeflow, MLFlow, Airflow etc., experience with Docker and Kubernetes, OpenShift
- Programming languages like Python, Bash, knowledge of frameworks such PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.
- Ability to understand tools used by data scientist and experience with software development and test automation

As well as offering a competitive salary, this role includes 40 days annual leave per year (30 days leave plus 10 days paid bank holidays), funded private medical care, up to 10% pension contribution and a car allowance.
How we work
Our belief is that we are “Better when Together” and want to balance the benefits of teaming up in person with flexible working where possible. This is a 35 hour per week role, but flexibility and some travel may be required depending on business needs.
We work in a hybrid environment and we ask colleagues to attend their base location a minimum of 3 days a week so they can connect, collaborate and learn together. The other 2 days can be worked either from home or another bank location. Some of our roles are customer facing which means that it’s really important to be able to work with customers face to face and hybrid working isn’t appropriate.
