Major Infrastructure Delivery (MID) is an exciting organization with over 1,000 coworkers, 10,000+ contract partners, and a $2.96 billion budget. The following are some of the key areas we are accountable for delivering in MID:

Position Summary

The Operations Data Analyst, Senior manages data and processes for operational excellence, analysis, leadership visibility, and support for ad hoc data requests. The incumbent maintains operations tools, databases, and dashboards to support systemwide execution of efficient and compliant electric asset inspections. The Analyst develops, maintains, and enhances data pipelines, data visualizations, and other operational tools for the broader inspections team, including multiple inspection types. 

 

They will collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including internal inspections management, field teams, Asset Strategy, IT, and others. The Analyst identifies and solves current gaps in system requirements to ensure ongoing program operations and visibility while supporting effective leadership decision making.

 

  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manages data management projects from initial request to presenting data results, ensuring that projects are high quality and completed on time.
  • DATA PROCESSING: Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery, ensuring data accuracy and process reliability.
  • DATA EXTRACTS AND PIPELINES: Manages extracting and transferring data from internal and external databases to various tools and teams to support program operations.
  • DATA ANALYSIS: Analyzes data using to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends, and profiles.
  • REPORTING: Develops and communicates clear, concise, and actionable data analyses and visualizations for various stakeholders.

*This position is hybrid, working from your remote office, and your assigned location based on business need. Headquarter location is flexible within PG&E service territory.

**This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary(STIP) incentive compensation programs.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Annual Minimum:  $105,000.00

Annual Maximum: $169,000.00

 

Responsibilities:

  • Designs data pipelines, visualizations, and analyses to achieve business objectives, process data, analyze data, write clear and concise data findings and tailor communications to specific audiences. Analyzes data to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends, and profiles.
  • Manages complex data analysis projects with limited supervision from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.
  • Designs data analysis to achieve business objectives, process data, analyze data, write clear and concise data findings and tailor communications to specific audiences. Analyzes data using various statistical tools to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends and profiles.
  • Manages complex data extracts and list pulls ensuring data accuracy. Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts
  • Creates complex automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
  • Demonstrates and utilizes advanced knowledge of data processing and data analysis techniques. Manages complex data analysis projects with limited supervision from initial request to presenting data results ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on-time.
  • Develops and communicates clear, concise and actionable data analyses for clients. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support inspection and technology process design
  • Provides recommendations and implements database enhancements with new data sources and improved data processes.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • Four (4) years of related work experience

Desired:

  • Demonstrated experience in data visualization best practices using Power BI
  • Strong knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Proficiency in Foundry, AWS, and GIS applications
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with utility operations
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to effectively prioritize work, meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks independently.
  • Good communications and presentation skills to deliver findings and make recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Project management skills.
