Senior Associate Data Management

What you will do

The Master Data Management team at Amgen plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to Commercial leadership, offering data-backed insights crucial for driving commercial success. As a Sr. Associate Data Management, you will be supporting management of Amgen’s internally generated patient data assets such as data generated from Patient Support Programs and Specialty Pharmacy patient data contracts.

This position will support management of Amgen’s internally generated patient data assets such as data generated from Patient Support Programs and Specialty Pharmacy patient data contracts. This includes executing solutions to compliantly connect patient data assets that will serve as the foundation for driving patient journey analytics that inform enhanced patient experiences.

The individual in this role will need to ensure effective execution of business rules and accuracy of processes that enable data connectivity across key master data domains. The role would partner with Patient Access, IS, Commercial teams, and multiple external vendors to support the patient data aggregation, integration, and ongoing operations.

You, as our Patient Data Management Senior Associate, plays a pivotal role as working closely with cross functional data governance and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate Master Data for all commercial operations including field support, patient services, compliance, and supporting wider Business Units within the ACCP.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Execute all aspects of day-to-day patient data operations for brands supported by this role.
  • Support end to end data curation processes for Amgen’s new and existing PSP (Patient Support Programs) and SP (Specialty Pharmacies) data sources.
  • Develop data requirements for onboarding of new patient support programs, specialty pharmacy and other patient data sources.
  • Respond and resolve data inquiries from cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Identify data issues across data sources, ensure checks are implemented and monitor data quality.
  • Enable compliant processing and management of patient level data assets in adherence to all Amgen Privacy and Compliance SOPs
  • Document up-to-date information for patient level data assets in Commercial Data Catalog
  • Adhere to data governance policies for patient data assets through data access management and business approval processes.
  • Adhere to Compliance, Legal and Data Privacy guidelines and best practices.
  • Supporting ACCP continuous improvement activities.
  • Supporting wider business units on an ad hoc basis (Finance/FP&A/Business Enablement).

Proven experience and skills needed:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech Data Management or Analytics, Value & Access, Marketing Operations, or a related field
  • OR Master’s degree and 3 years of data management experience, business, engineering, computer science or related field experience
  • OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of data management experience, business, engineering, computer science or related field experience
  • University Degree in business, computer science, mathematics, healthcare or related field.
  • Understanding of IS data applications and experience with data querying and data quality tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and success in a highly matrixed environment to manage priorities and drive success.
  • Good project management skills, working with project teams in a matrixed and, at times, ambiguous environment.
  • Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Pharmaceutical/Healthcare data management and business processes (commercial, medical, clinical, etc.)
  • Experience with data, analytics, and technology solutions (AWS/other cloud platforms, SQL, Databricks, Tableau, etc.)
  • Adept at effectively translating business stakeholder requirements to IT partners to ensure high quality, timely, integrated data assets.
  • Execute prioritized data deliverables through agile execution and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated self-starter, ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, active listening, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a cross-section of internal partners in the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data models to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates a service-minded attitude.
