Performance Assurance Data Analyst
Job Description
Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) is looking for a Data Analyst to join our team! The person in this position will have experience in designing, modeling, documenting, and guiding the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications. You will lead or assist in creating standards and/or do modeling to monitor and enhance capacity in performance/compliance and service.
In this role, you will be part of Argonne’s Quality, Work Planning and Analysis (QWPA) team. Argonne and the QWPA management team are advocates for strong cross-training and development programs. As such, you will also have the opportunity to work on assignments and teams related to requirements, documents, risk, assessments, event analysis, issues management, lessons learned, metrics, and work planning and control.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and use data review processes to establish dashboards and spreadsheets utilizing various business intelligence data models.
- Develop and implement reporting and analytics solutions to enhance decision-making processes, utilizing data mining and statistical modeling techniques to identify patterns and trends in large datasets.
- Develop, refine, and integrate complex business solutions for laboratory processes using cloud-based business process modeling tools, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
- Design and develop dashboards and data visualizations to present actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, and internal and external stakeholders to define reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with DOE Directives, Laws, and Regulations.
- Audit the performance of reporting metrics analytics systems to maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, reports, and analytics.
Position Requirements
- Strong verbal/written communication skills with the ability to conceptualize, document, and communicate major elements of regulatory compliance with both technical and non-technical personnel in a clear and understandable way. This can include regulatory compliance in engineering, technical and science-related areas.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, DOE, regulatory agencies, including the ability to build effective working relationships and build and lead diverse teams across ANL.
- Strong hands-on and logical problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with strong decision-making skills.
- Ability to model Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data visualization and statistical analysis (Ex: Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Minitab).
- Lean Six Sigma training (Ex: Yellow, Green, Black, Master Black Belt).
- Causal analysis training (Ex: Blue Dragon, TapRoot®, ThinkReliability, MORT, Kepner-Tregoe, CAMP, Sologic, PROACT, Cause and Effect, 8D, Ishikawa / Fishbone Analysis and/or 5 Why).
- Auditing training or experience in multiple standards (Ex: ISO9001, ISO14001, NQA-1).
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
