Planning Data Scientist
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Planning Data Scientist, are to:
- Conceptualize, build, organize and support data structure to capture planning and financial demand for long range plans currently focused on 1-3 year outlook
- Represent planning on system connectivity across crop science related to LRP forecast accuracy, data standardization and data connectivity
- Transform data collection processes into valuable information enabling critical strategic decisions on the operational and financial future of crop science, influencing complex business challenge outcomes
- Execute data mining, extraction and connection from various data source into a standard, simplified form across multiple Crop Science data platforms, including Velocity, Crop Science Warehouse, FTS, LUMOS, Data One, along with additional analytical models and systems
- Developing sustainable, consumable, accurate, and impactful reporting on model inputs and outputs, business impact, and key performance indicators.
- Present information in a clear,concise and consistent manner to a broad spectrum of organizational leaders using multiple automated systems such as Spotfire, PowerBI
- Collaborate across Business, IT and Analytic partners to create a roadmap of data congruency and consistency Data Wrangling – proficiency in handling imperfections in data and establishing processes to improve reliability
- Enhance data collection procedures to include all relevant information from multiple sources and technologies

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, in any of the following functional areas, Plant Breeding, Manufacturing, Planning, Seed Production
- Programming Skills – knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL, Hive, or Pig.
- Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Spotfire, Power BI, or Smartsheets
- Demonstrated advanced problem-solving abilities;
- Combine strong conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to motivate senior managers and cross organizational teams to collaborate;
- Ability to influence, persuade and collaboratively build relationships with internal and external customers as well as the ability to drive corrective action when necessary;
- Ability to lead projects of high complexity with limited direction; Strong attention to detail; Proficient with Microsoft Office tools; Fluency in English. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Breeding methodologies, Trait Integration or Genotyping
- Working knowledge of machine learning methods and algorithms
- Have a broad understanding of various disciplines and issues impacting manufacturing and supply chain operations around the world (e.g. regulatory and environmental issues, quality control, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Manufacturing, Planning, Seed Production with
- 1 -5 years of experience
