Description

A Postdoctoral research position is available to conduct experiments on quantitative behaviors in laboratory animals using long duration video and audio recordings. The duties include: colony maintenance, behavioral training, quantitative analysis of video and audio data, hardware-software integration, advanced computational approaches that involved novel machine learning procedures, and generating figures and text for publication. The candidate will develop and implement new approved procedures, or modify existing protocols and procedures. The position also calls for collaboration with two additional research labs. The candidate should have a proven record of being able to communicate ideas, problems, suggestions, and messages in a timely and effective manner. 

 

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500 – $70,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Qualifications

The minimun qualifiatons include: PhD in Neuroscience or related field, training in animal behavior, a strong background in mathematics, and experience with Python for data analysis
