Get SNCB Data Working for You

You’re a Power BI whiz, and you love sharing your knowledge. We need you to build a rock-solid Power BI practice at SNCB and empower teams across the company to make data-driven decisions.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll be:

  • Building the Foundation: Creating best practices, guides, and training for everyone using Power BI at SNCB.
  • Leading the Community: Guiding citizen developers and coaching Ypto Power BI developers, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Championing Excellence: Setting up a dedicated Power BI Center of Excellence to drive continuous learning and innovation.
  • Unlocking Insights: Partnering with business units to understand their reporting needs and translate them into actionable Power BI dashboards.
  • Migrating to the Future: Leading the move from legacy reporting systems to the new Power BI architecture.
  • Crafting Clear Reports: Designing and developing reports that deliver clear and valuable insights to stakeholders.
  • Working with Teams: Collaborating with internal teams to understand their data analysis and visualization needs.
  • Transforming Data: Working with the Data Factory team to refine raw data, turning it into meaningful insights.
  • Keeping Reports Running Smoothly: Providing expert advice on maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing existing Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Finding Efficiency: Continuously analyzing processes and identifying ways to leverage data for better decision-making.
  • Empowering Others: Training and supporting citizen developers to create their own reports and contribute to the data revolution.
  • Sharing Best Practices: Using mockups, POCs, and ongoing guidance to promote a data-driven culture.
  • Ensuring Quality: Reviewing reports developed internally or externally to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
  • Managing Roadmaps: Collaborating with users, vendors, and stakeholders to create and manage roadmaps for enhancements, bug fixes, and incident resolution.
  • The Power BI Answer Person: Acting as the trusted resource for colleagues and business stakeholders on all things Power BI applications, reports, and dashboards.
  • Working with the Bigger Picture: Maintaining alignment with existing architectures, consulting with Enterprise, System, and Solution Architects as needed.
  • Testing and Data Quality: Contributing to the development of test scenarios, functional testing, and data cleaning, and providing guidance on Data Quality reporting.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role, like BI and reporting lead developer, team lead, community lead, Product Owner, or BI Solution Architect.
  • Agile experience: Experience with Scrum, Kanban, and Confluence for collaboration is a must.
  • Power BI expertise: Deep knowledge and experience with Power BI reporting tools, the PowerBI Admin Portal, including Gateways, DataFlows, Premium Capacities, DAX, and more.
  • Understanding of Azure BI: A strong understanding of Azure Enterprise BI Solution Architecture, products, and services (Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Analysis Services, Databricks, DataVerse, etc.) is a plus. (Bonus points for SAP BW/BW4 experience!)
  • Analytical skills: Familiarity with diverse analysis techniques, including use cases, scenario development, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Migration experience: Experience in developing and implementing migration plans and methodologies.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication skills in Dutch, French, and English.
  • Attention to detail: A methodical, detail-oriented, and organized approach.
  • Problem-solving skills: A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a hands-on approach to challenges.
