PURPOSE OF ROLE:
As a Product Data Analyst on the Product team, you will be playing a key role in understanding the performance of our product features and services, our customer behaviours, and the impact the changes we make as a team have. You will help identify opportunities for future developments and build business justification to progress.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for keeping the key BI and MI reports functional and insightful. These are used to show the performance of our key product areas, how our teams are performing and what we are focusing on. You will be responsible for owning these reports and ensuring the data in them is true and always up to date along with iterating and improving on how these insights are shared and delivered to our stakeholders.
You’ll also be working closely with members of the product team; Product Analysts, Product Managers, UX Designers along with stakeholders and subject matter experts from across the wider business to understand customer behaviour at both a quantitative and qualitative level – utilising tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, Usabilla, Google Analytics and Hotjar. You will create clear and insightful reports that answer key questions. At times you may need to make predictive models to be able to understand the potential impact that changes may have against our customers and their behaviours.
You’ll be required to work across all channels and systems, work with SME’s and stakeholders and build a strong knowledge of our business, our customers and all our supporting data.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead on Product KPI and data insight development across the portfolio and work alongside commercial, data and IT to track a consistent set of measures.
• Partner with the data team in developing our data capability and champion the utilisation of both qualitative and quantitative data across Product.
• Support the team on reporting key insights and impact on initiatives and experiments.
• Initiate, analyse, and present reviews of customer behaviour and roadmap opportunities across the product lifecycle.
• Own application of Google Tag Manager and undertake digital customer behaviour analysis.
• Provision of weekly, monthly and other reports and development of dashboards. Provide context and commentary to help the business understand performance and trend changes.
• Support on the analysis of external data sources (e.g. 3rd party research) and dissemination of this across the business.
• Construct business justification of initiatives through the use data.
• Report on performance on AB/MVT testing alongside the commercial content team.
• Build strong partnerships with commercial, editorial, IT, Ops, and data.
• Champion data usage on the Product team to help create a data led culture.
Requirements
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential
• Strong Analytics background, ideally in a commercial or digital product context.
• Proficient in SQL, Power BI, Google Analytics and Excel.
• Strong history of creating powerful, informative dashboards and being able to tell the story about the data within them.
• Stakeholder management and expectation setting.
• Great communicator – able to express complex ideas and data in a compelling way for all levels of audience in person, over video or in written form.
• PowerPoint and other data visualisation tools.
• Has worked across products that get used by in-house users and customers.
• Pro-active, personable, and social – can forge relationships with colleagues both within the office and those across other offices.
• Ability to prioritise work effectively.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Has a bias to action – sees to it that they can remove their own blockers and not hide behind their desk.
Desirable
• Investment industry experience, either having worked in, or has invested themselves.
• Knowledge of Python.
• Knowledge of funnel optimisation, CRO techniques and service design principles.
• An understanding of our core systems such as JHC Figaro and Order Routing.
• Jira/Confluence experience.
