The Product Manager’s primary responsibilities include managing the product life cycle from inception and strategic direction through to the execution of tactical activities needed to keep the product growing and relevant in their respective marketplace. This person will manage products from existing ideas and assist in developing new ideas based on industry insights based on market research. They are familiar with the software design and development process, which allows them to successfully drive product roadmaps. This individual is responsible for defining high-level customer requirements and working closely with the software development team in ensuring those requirements are addressed. The Product Manager is expected to work independently, make decisions on matters of significance, and need little direct supervision.

Essential Functions

Product Vision and Strategy

  • Identify market trends, contribute to market/pricing research, and synthesize competitive intelligence to contribute to product family strategic plan.
  • Conduct customer research to uncover unmet needs and inform product roadmap.

Product Development and Management

  • Translate user needs into product epics and features and maintain product backlog.
  • Engage with prospective and current clients to gain input on feature prioritization and design.
  • Drive customer engagement throughout the development process.
  • Work collaboratively with product development to analyze requirements, document workflows, design features, and sign off on product feature completeness.
  • Maintain the product roadmap, drive release planning preparation.

Product Promotion

  • Collaborate with marketing to define product positioning, messaging and marketing plans.
  • Lead product commercialization (product code/pricing changes, product marketing and launch activities) to drive product adoption.
  • Assist with product sales by supporting product training and demos, completing RFPs, gathering product feedback and analyzing win/loss data.

Product Performance

  • Monitors on-market product performance
  • Address product satisfaction issues.

Skills needed to be successful

  • Demonstrate a basic mastery in synthesizing information into strategies that include visions, goals and initiatives.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Able to develop internal and client facing presentations on their own.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively across the organization.
  • Successfully able to lead meetings, set agendas, facilitate brainstorming, achieve decisions and distribute minutes and actions.
  • Firm understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Biological Sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience launching brand new products to the marketplace.
  • 4+ years in a software product management or product ownership role. Experience supporting healthcare products or a combination of education and related working experience form which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel within U.S. and internationally.

Preferred Experience & Education

  • MBA and/or Master’s in Health Administration, Information Management, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Experience with the Clinisys portfolio of products.
  • Experience working in healthcare tech or life sciences.
  • Experience with Healthcare AI.

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $94,600 to $129,300 for annual base salary. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.


Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds with assistance as part of office routine.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Moderate lifting/carrying 15-44 lbs.; use of fingers; walking/standing 2-6 hours.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials or various weather conditions
  • Travel to client sites that can pose risk associated with healthcare organization.
  • May be required to follow customer location health and safety requirements.
