Job Title: Data Analyst

Location: Remote

Work Shift: 9AM to 5PM Pacific Time

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and proactive Data Analyst to join our team, with expertise in advanced Excel/Google Sheets, and proficiency in working with large datasets. Your role will be pivotal in analyzing and interpreting residential rental data to drive data-driven decision-making and enhance the user experience on our platform. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong command in pivot tables, formulas, and macros, as well as possess the ability to clean, sort, and organize extensive datasets. Additionally, candidates who are deeply familiar and well-versed in the US Postal address data structure and have a thorough understanding of the components that constitute a valid US address will be highly valued in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Excel/Google Sheets Expertise:

  • Utilize advanced features of Excel and Google Sheets, such as pivot tables, macros, writing app scripts, formulas, and functions, to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively.
  • Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases in Excel and Google Sheets to track and analyze various residential rental metrics and data points.
  • Create custom templates and tools in Excel and Google Sheets to automate repetitive tasks and streamline data entry and analysis processes.
  • Generate insightful reports and visualizations in Excel and Google Sheets to communicate key findings and trends in the residential rental market to stakeholders.

Data Organization and Cleaning:

  • Identify and address data quality issues, inconsistencies, and discrepancies within residential rental datasets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to clean, standardize, and normalize residential rental data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Utilize data cleaning tools and techniques to remove duplicates, missing values, and outliers from residential rental datasets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand residential rental data requirements and ensure data integrity throughout the platform.

Proactive Improvement:

  • Continuously assess data analysis processes, tools, and methodologies to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Proactively propose and implement innovative solutions and best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in residential rental data analysis and reporting.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional initiatives to streamline data workflows, automate manual processes, and improve data quality and integrity within the company’s platform.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analysis and visualization to incorporate relevant advancements into existing processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the real estate or rental industry.
  • Expertise in advanced features of Excel and Google Sheets, including pivot tables, macros, writing app scripts, formulas, and functions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify patterns and create rules to optimize data cleaning and organization processes.
  • Experience with data cleaning, manipulation, and organization techniques.
  • Proven track record of driving proactive improvement initiatives to enhance data analysis processes and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders across different departments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
  • Experience with Tableau for creating data visualizations and interactive dashboards is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the United States Postal Service is a plus.
