Job Description

Gatewood Wealth Solutions is seeking a skilled and dedicated Research Analyst to join our team in St. Louis. The Research Analyst position is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a planning-centric team to design, build, and protect the financial goals of our clients.  As a Research Analyst, you will be responsible for providing oversight to client portfolios, recommending investment changes, and implementing trades throughout accounts. You will partner with our Investment Committee by actively reviewing financial markets and focusing on optimizing portfolios for investment return and risk management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a mastery of Gatewood Wealth Solution’s planning and investment philosophies.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of prospect portfolios to create and present investment proposals.
  • Lead portfolio trading for outgoing/incoming cash and model strategy changes.
  • Analyze portfolio drift reports and implement necessary changes. 
  • Formulate and implement risk and investment recommendations aligned to different strategy goals..
  • Work closely with the operations team, investment committee, and other GWS professionals to deliver a concierge client experience, ensuring seamless service and proactive communication.
  • Actively support the firm’s strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Pursuing CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst).
  • 3-5 years of investment analysis and wealth management experience.
  • Basic understanding of Python programming and ability to locate and fix programming errors.
  • Strong knowledge of investment markets and financial planning strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage with teammates and clients effectively.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to provide thoughtful recommendations and solutions for clients.
  • Results driven and detail-oriented self-starter.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Ability to adhere to firm process and compliance standards.
  • Series 66 securities registration and Series 7 within 180 days of employment.
