Job Description

The High Performance Computing department conducts research in the field of seismic data processing and interpretation. 

 

Employees from the fields of geophysics, physics, mathematics and computer science ensure the diversity of expertise within the department in order to be able to develop complete packages for our industrial customers – from the mathematical core to the methodical algorithm to the robust, efficient and parallel software product.

 

If you join this successful team, you will develop innovative AI and ML-supported methods for working with seismic data for oil and gas exploration and for subsurface exploration for the utilisation of green forms of energy.

 

 

What you will do

  • Developing methods for analysing and processing seismic data using machine learning
  • Designing, parameterising and training neural networks and testing them using real data
  • Collaboration on the optimisation and expansion of existing classic seismic data processing algorithms
  • Presenting research results in meetings with customers and at international conferences

 

What you bring to the table

  • A completed master’s degree or doctorate in a technical subject such as computer science, data science, mathematics, physics or geophysics
  • Good knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods
  • Good programming skills in Python and Pytorch; ideally experience in C++
  • Enjoy working in a team, communication skills and initiative

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
