Retail Credit Risk Models – 2 opportunities – Senior Analyst and Manager level

We are seeking 2 experienced Credit Risk professionals to join our high performing Retail Credit Risk team. These roles include:
Senior Analyst – Retail Credit Risk Models
Manager – Retail Credit Risk Models
At ING, you’ll thrive as you work closely with all facets of the business with the unique advantage of enjoying high visibility amongst senior stakeholders. You’ll perform complex credit risk analysis and use your knowledge of credit risk modelling along with your advanced level SAS experience.
You’ll develop, analyse and monitor new and existing regulatory risk models in accordance with internal and external requirements. You’ll prepare the model data, apply appropriate modelling techniques, document models and act as a subject matter expert on credit risk models and data.

What you’ll do
- Perform complex credit risk analysis and/or modelling to maximise profits and asset growth.
- Develop scoring models, updating application and behaviour scoring models based on actual experience and the latest advances in risk management technology.
- Develop business critical statistical models including IRB, IFRS9, application and behavioural scorecards, Early Warning System (EWS) models and stress-testing for the retail credit risk portfolios along with application.
- Support the development and maintenance of the ING’s retail credit risk models, ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations and are fit-for-purpose for use across the business.
- Create comprehensive documentation of models and preparing data for model development.
- Generate model monitoring reports and working with the Policy team to identify key credit metrics to support business development priorities and better monitor risk trends in IBAL’s retail credit portfolio.
- Define critical data elements for credit risk and ensure the appropriate data quality and monitoring standards are met for all critical data elements.
As Manager – Retail Credit Risk Models you’ll also provide mentoring, development and support to all staff within the modelling team and represent Head of Retail Risk at governance committees, oversight forums and project groups.
What we’re looking for
- Practical knowledge of APS113 and other standard regulatory requirements for credit risk.
- Advanced level of SAS (essential) and SQL; R, Python or Machine learning (credit decisioning systems) experience will be viewed as highly advantageous.
- 1-3 years in credit modelling with experience managing statistical modelling involving large amounts of data
- Sound knowledge of banking products and trends in banking industry.
- Relevant Australian market experience with strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
For the Manager – Retail Credit Risk Models level role, you’ll bring your expertise of staff mentoring, coaching and development with 5+ years credit modelling experience.
