About the Role
This is a research intern position within the Advanced Robotics team in the Corporate Engineering and R&D department. The Advanced Robotics team is focused on developing novel technologies that give robots human-like capabilities in perception and dexterity. The candidate is responsible for utilizing the in-built functionality of our industrial robots to perform precise assembly tasks. The candidate will perform Robotic Adaptive Force Torque assembly using the Industrial Robot’s in-built functionality. Magna’s Student Program provides students the opportunity to gain practical work experience in their area of study related to the automotive industry
Your Responsibilities
• Perform Adaptive Force Torque assembly using Robot’s in-built functionality.
• Create representative case study to understand solution capabilities and limitations.
• Create, modify, and implement the software packages to a practical application.
• Develop evaluation criteria to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the systems.
• Present technical results and provide recommendations based on the case study.
Who we are looking for
• Prior experience in Programming one of the UR, KUKA, ABB Robots.
• Prior experience with collaborative robots
• Experience with Force Torque (FT) sensors
• Experience in software programming (C++, Python)
• Good understanding of Robotics fundamentals
• Curious, Team Player and ability to thrive in collaborative, small team environment
Your preferred qualifications
• Student in a UG or MS program focused on Robotics
