RUN Manager, Application Development and Maintenance
Job Description
As a part of the greater Global Medical Products & Distribution (GMPD), the Medical IT team is responsible for providing, supporting, and enhancing IT solutions for Cardinal Health’s medical supplies distribution and replenishment center network. Supported solutions include large, complex, leading-edge warehouse management systems, robotics, transportation management systems, automation integrations, analytics, and more.
The Medical IT team is looking for a highly motivated individual to lead and manage our RUN support and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring our IT support team in various capacities to maintain system stability and help improve existing operations. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to various industry supply chain systems including Robotics, AS/RS, IOT and AI/ML automation across the Medical Supply chain directly impacting the warehouse and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional teams consisting of workstream leads, consultants / contractors, and facility managers on software support, maintenance, and defect fix for outage reductions.
- Facilitate and/or manage various teams during system outages and facilitate root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Manage contractor team and ensure managed service contract compliance.
- Foster relationships with Medical business leaders in operations, distribution, and other cross-teams.
- Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages, application programming interfaces and server architecture including on-prem and cloud.
- Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
- Plan and execute system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
- Maintain all regulatory SOX Compliance and HIPPA guidelines, to include annual compliance reviews.
- Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
- Analyzes production system operations utilizing proactive monitoring, alerting, and capacity analysis.
- Lead root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
- Ensure all regulatory SOX Compliance and HIPPA guidelines, to include annual compliance reviews
- Understand business requirements and supply chain integrations to support across software platforms.
- Collaborate with software vendor partners as a liaison, understanding application architecture, schema and existing or future interfaces.
- Plan and address the stability, risk, and recovery concerns of WMS application suite by collaborating with software vendor, shared services, and managed services partners.
- Create/develop/maintain various RUN KPI metric reports and dashboards and ensure all IT annual metrics are met
- Help coordinate training of policies & procedures as needed.
- Act as technical lead/mentor on team to provide skill uplift to junior team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 8+ years experience in related field preferred.
- Understanding of databases (DB2, Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL), SQL queries, database modelling and SQL performance tuning preferred.
- Knowledge of Agile development, DevSecOps practices, APIs and microservices helpful.
- Familiarity of application platforms like .Net, Java is preferred
- Working knowledge of building and deploying containerized application on Kubernetes, PCF and GCP/AWS Cloud highly preferred.
- Experience in supporting software/hardware tech refresh support preferred.
- Excellent leadership, project management, analytical and critical thinking skills preferred.

- Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
- OH – Work from Home primary, but not mandatory. Other locations considered.
Anticipated salary range: $119,800 – 171,100.
