Job Description
Bosch Research and Technology in Sunnyvale has an open position for a passionate, and experienced research intern to contribute to variety projects in applied cryptography, security, privacy, and machine learning. This is a unique opportunity for applied research, to have a real impact on Bosch’s business. Our team works in a wide range of topics spanning automotive system security, IT security applications, and security for and with machine learning.
For this position, we are looking for applicants to conduct research on malware mitigation, focusing specifically on detecting presence of malware, and restoring the system following malware infestation. This research will involve using a combination of (physical or remote) side channel analysis and deep learning.
Qualifications
Intern Responsibilities:
- Understand/analyze the research problem and propose viable/scalable approaches for mitigation.
- Design an end-to-end scheme, implement a proof-of-concept prototype, and evaluate it.
- Present findings, collaborate, and contribute to drafting a publishable report (e.g., paper or patent).
Required Qualification:
- Enrolled in a Ph.D. program in computer science, electrical engineering, or closely related field.
- Experience with Side Channel Analysis, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
Preferred Qualification:
- Strong publication record or evidence of having created or contributed to innovative solutions (e.g., patents or patent applications).
- Proficiency in C/C++ and (optional) assembly.
- Experience with Applied Cryptography and System Security.
Additional Information
The U.S. base salary range for this intern position is $43.00-$68.00 hourly. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, type of degree, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, type of position, job location, etc. Your Hiring Manager can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
