National Grid is hiring a Senior Analyst for our Gas Asset Management and Engineering department to support our Future of Heat process development and projects in our Massachusetts Service Territory by providing insightful data analysis and interpretation, workplan forecasting & seamless cross-functional teamwork. This position is located in Waltham, MA. It is a hybrid role with approximately 1-2 days in the office. A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.
Job Purpose
We’re expanding our Future of Heat engineering team that will continue to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to successfully review project opportunities, expand established asset management practices to integrate decarbonization technologies and prepare engineering studies to determine the capability of delivering a fossil free solution.
Key Accountabilities
This individual will need to understand the business drivers that impact end-to-end processes, including financial, regulatory, operational, capital, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead complex projects. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations that drive business decisions.
The Senior Analyst supporting Future of Heat will:
- Develop strong, collaborative working relationships across teams, functions, and levels.
- Apply analytical skills, judgement, attention to detail, and creativity to effectively solve problems.
- Navigate ambiguity, take initiative, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholder groups.
- Pivot to address ad hoc requests as they arise in an effective and efficient manner.
- Proactively build relationships and drive accountability.
- Drive standardization and automation of analysis and reporting. Build strong stakeholder relationships across project teams, finance, and regulatory.
- Lead and support cost recovery filings including creation of cost exhibits and support documentation and discovery.
Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical role.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Excel).
- Some experience working with Spatial Data.
- Experience with ESRI’s tool stack would be a plus: ArcGIS Pro, AGOL, Arc Server
- Previous successful experience working in cross functional teams.
- Have the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints. Bottom-line oriented, budget conscious, metric/measurement driven
- Have strong computer skills, communication skills and written skills required.
More Information
Salary: $105,000 – $123,000
Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to Federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation (“DOT”) covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
