As a BI Developer for Engineering Operations at Cohesity, you will provide data and recommendations to the business. This will include identifying the data sources and developing a visualization of that data to drive decisions and process improvements.

You will be responsible for developing operational reporting capabilities, working with partner teams on ad-hoc analysis, and providing strategic support to the executive team. You will also build standardized metrics and reporting for the organization that keeps us informed and are the fingers on the pulse of our business.

The ideal candidate for this role will be highly motivated and will use their technical skills to quickly make an impact ensuring that our growth curve extends into 2023 and beyond.

Job Description 

  • Work closely with management within Engineering and their teams to understand their information requirements from start to finish, including collecting and documenting requirements, pulling data and compiling data into presentable reports, dashboards and charts
  • Lead reporting requirements as project-driven tasks with detailed requirements, timelines, and milestones
  • Partner closely with the data warehouse team to architect data-driven solution to operations reporting requirements
  • Guide business teams on how to meet their business requirements using data to get at desired results
  • Act as a technical liaison with IT for defining ETL/data solutions vital for reporting requirements
  • Document techniques and train team members on self-service reporting
  • Play a key role in influencing how to collect and store data and how does it align with Cohesity’s data warehouse strategy
  • Provide recommendations to improve BI system performance and capacity.
  • Validate data warehouse system for data integrity, quality, and accuracy.
  • Partner with various engineering teams to improve BI reporting and analytics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions

 

Requirements:

 

  • BA/BS degree in Information Systems or Business Management is desired
  • 8-10+ years of report development using enterprise reporting tools such as Tableau
  • At least 7+ years of hands on experience with SQL development including: SQL objects development, query tuning, data analysis, integration
  • 3+ years of experience with Snowflake
  • SQL Server skills 
  • Experience with at least 1 of the following Data Sources – JIRA, SFDC, Big Query, MongoDB
  • Experience delivering reports and dashboards reflecting of quality and operations metrics
  • Project management skills required – including project tracking, handling resources across functions and driving execution 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention-to-detail
  • Ability to work quickly/accurately on multiple projects
  • Must be able to understand end results and provide creative solutions
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Confirmed problem-solver

Desired to have:

  • Experience with building filters, Jira Dashboards, JQL, script-runner

In-Office Expectations

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
