Maersk is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to join our Operational Excellence and Innovation team within the Asset Management Department. The scope of the team covers products and processes for all of Maersk’s physical assets globally.

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for enabling our organization’s ability to make data driven decisions. You will work with our business partners to identify, define, & develop key metrics and levers that enable efficient management of their operations. You will also explore, aggregate & visualize large data sources from operational transactions as well as those generated by the assets themselves to generate insights and surface actionable opportunities that will enable our teams to offer industry leading capabilities and deliver on customer promise.

Key Responsibilities:
– Work closely with leadership to understand the overall strategy, operational processes, and broader business context. Use that insight to develop the requisite data products (e.g. dashboards, tables, pipelines, etc) to address the data needs of the organization.

– Design, test, evaluate & monitor Key Performance Indicators that are easy to understand, decision oriented, and provide the appropriate level of drill down.

– Identify actionable opportunities & insights and enable our business teams to offer & refine industry leading products and services, deliver on customer promise and develop new strategic initiatives.
– Build and maintain internal reporting pipelines and dashboards for stakeholders including troubleshooting, development, and access controls. Write advanced SQL queries, and system configurations, and manage and execute project plans.
– Collaborate with business, platform, and data development teams to ensure the data is of high quality, efficiency, granularity, coverage and accuracy.
– Establish appropriate prioritization mechanisms to manage analytics demand pipeline.
– Establish benefit estimation methodology for business teams to use when evaluating new initiatives across the Asset Management organization.

– Support best practices in developing documentation, training, and webinars to enable self-serve analytics for the Asset Management teams
– Share complex ideas, issues, and recommendations in presentation and written form to gain agreement from stakeholders at different levels and with different backgrounds.

We are looking for:
CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Necessary to perform the requirements of the position:

– Education: Bachelor’s degree; Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Computer science or related field preferred.
– 3 to 5+ years’ experience in Analytics & Data Science to identify business opportunities, predict customer behaviors and performing statistical analysis.
– 3 to 5+ years’ experience in developing dashboards or performing analysis in a “client-facing” role, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, build solutions using an iterative approach.
– Experience of SQL programming, or similar data mining languages (e.g., SAS, R, Python, PySpark).
– Experience developing dashboards or performing analysis in a “client-facing” role, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, build solutions using an iterative approach.
– Ability to self-start and self-direct operational initiatives and comfortable managing ambiguity.
– Ability to cultivate cross-functional relationships and work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment with a track record of managing projects with multiple stakeholders.
