Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Business Analytics department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Business Data Analyst
The primary responsibility of this role is contributing to a more inspiring, innovative, and exciting Toyota by developing and leveraging analytics to make it more efficient and effective. Also having the ability to understand business data and processes to enhance and improve the data to create innovative and engaging visualizations that are highly usable, scalable, extensible, and maintainable.
Reporting to the Business Analytics Manager, the person in this role will support the Business Analytics objectives to help lead the design, development, and delivery of business analytics for the Brand Engagement Center, with the business goals of improving customer experience and visibility into contact center performance. Only candidates with both technical skills and business acumen will be considered.
What you’ll be doing
Identify and capitalize on both strategic and tactical improvement opportunities in partnership with key Toyota and Lexus executives and managers.
- Build and leverage key cross-functional relationships with executives critical to the success of our business with our analytics tools.
- Review current recurring business reporting processes (daily, weekly, and month-end reporting, external reporting, etc.). Look for opportunities to streamline these reporting processes, consolidate reports, and move towards more of a self-service model.
Design, develop, and deploy self-service analytics platforms and tools that increase our team members’ ability to access and analyze data on their own.
- Work with a cross-functional team in the design and development of analytics dashboards. Utilize and build new, easy-to-understand tools to allow for simple visualization of complex data to allow end users to quickly identify and interpret patterns in the data.
- Assist in the migration and restructuring of data in a centralized repository and contribute to the ongoing development of the business analytics platform and tools’ backend.
Operationalize, support, and integrate analytics platforms and tools in business units’ business processes.
- Leverage project management skills to bring a standardized approach to both our development lifecycle AND our monthly reporting cycle. Standardize the process to help reduce errors and shorten delivery timelines.
- Lead the delivery of hands-on, high-touch training and consultative support to the on and off-site users as they build their competencies using these analytically-driven tools.
- Oversee the creation of training videos, technical manuals, data dictionaries, user guides, scenario guides, etc.
Work seamlessly with other Business Analytics teammates, sharing learnings and tools, and applying best practices from an analytics perspective to ensure that solutions can scale across TMNA.
- Design solutions to extend across both Toyota and Lexus whenever possible
- Collaborate and incorporate learnings and tools from team members supporting Toyota
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Analytics, Marketing, Consumer Insights, or a closely related field.
- Advanced development experience (5 – 7 years) using analytics platforms and tools (SQL, Data Warehousing, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx)
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to discover and present a business story using tools like Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and promotes understanding and consensus-building
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and business partnering abilities (all levels of the organization)
- Experience leading analytics projects

- Experience with front-line contact center data and reporting
