While our roots are in direct marketing, we have a strong eCommerce and growing brick and mortar retail presence. We have three (3) Retail locations in Pennsylvania, five (5) in Texas, two (2) in Florida and soon to be more.
Summary:
We are looking for a passionate individual with exceptional analytical skills….who is inquisitive, articulate, and technically-minded with keen business instinct and exceptional interpersonal skills. A successful candidate will have the ability to transform data into information, information into complex analytics and analytics into actionable plain-language to drive business decisions. Our analytics team plays an advisory role to internal and external departments explaining to them why business figures are the way they are, providing root cause analysis and finally suggesting ways for improvement. This position acts as an entry point into the organization by providing diverse experiences to learn our business through cross-functional activities
What can you expect as a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst with Cigars International/Bethlehem Shared Services?
- Develop business intelligence solutions through knowledge of business user needs, appropriate data repositories, business intelligence development best practices and innovative use of technologies
- Design statistical and predictive data models to drive insights about potential business scenarios and collaborate with upper management about proactive business actions that should be taken
- Be the thought leader in formulating, suggesting, and managing data-driven projects which are geared at furthering the business’s interests
- Analyze complex data sets and develop comprehensive master data repositories in an efficient manner
- Lead large-scale projects ranging from system integrations and data warehousing to developing analytical models that allow business users to perform scenario analyses
- Provide practical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts
- Work closely with global and local IT teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture including the continued development and maintenance of our data warehouse
- Ensure proper master data management principles are applied and take corrective actions to continuously improve the quality of our data
- Ensure data governance principles are applied at all times, including the proper following of CCPA standards; collaborate with data governance team on continuous improvements to protect our consumer data
- Interpret and analyze data using mathematic and statistical techniques based on scientific methods
- Effectively develop narratives based on outcomes of performed data models, translate setups of studies in an understandable fashion, and provide recommendations to executive leadership
- Develop concise and understandable PowerPoint presentations for executive leadership to effectively explain the results and narratives of performed analyses and studies to enable confident and speedy decision-making
- Analyze problems and determine root causes
- Consistency in delivering error-free work, on time, at standards that meet or exceed business users’ expectations
Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):
- Bachelors Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent field
- 8 years of experience in data analysis or data science
- 6 years of experience in querying databases, either via SQL or data preparation tools such as Alteryx
- 6 years of experience with data visualization programs such as Power BI
- Experience with developing statistical and predictive data models
- Experience in process engineering and process automations
- Experience in data warehousing (onboarding, transforming and enriching data)
- Experience with Python and R
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent executive presence
- Comfortable collaborating with diverse teams and presenting to executive leadership teams
- Excellent data intuition and attention to detail
- A logical, curious, and analytical mindset with a desire to interrogate data
- Capable of operating independently and without direction, yet has the awareness to identify situations where additional guidance or support is needed
- Ability to creatively solve problems and deal with ambiguity
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proactive effort and desire to continually learn and grow
