The opportunity

EY is looking for Senior Consultant/Consultant AWS Data Engineer with expertise in one of the industries across: Banking, Insurance, not mandatory.

Skills and attributes for success

  • We are seeking a highly skilled ETL Engineer to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining efficient ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • They will collaborate with various teams to integrate data from various sources (Workday specifically) into our data warehouse and ensure its accuracy and integrity.
  • This role requires expertise in ETL tools, data warehousing concepts, and experience with AWS Glue Jobs, S3, Redshift, and other relevant technologies is a plus.
  • The candidate needs to have very good proficiency with SQL (postgresql) and python/pyspark.
  • Design and implement scalable ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into our data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand data integration needs.
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines (using AWS Glue Jobs), ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Design optimized ETL workflows for performance and cost-effectiveness, leveraging AWS services.
  • Document ETL processes, data mappings, and workflows for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in ETL, data warehousing, and cloud technologies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members on ETL-related matters.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand product-specific data requirements, particularly with Workday data.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • B Tech from engineering schools or Masters in Engineer domain
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Ideally you’ll also have

  • Proficiency in ETL tools and techniques, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing ETL processes.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  • Experience working with AWS Glue Jobs, S3, Redshift, and other AWS services.
  • Familiarity with building and managing ETL pipelines in a cloud environment.
  • Knowledge of SQL and scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
  • Product Knowledge:
  • Exposure to Workday data and understanding of its data model and integration capabilities.
  • Experience in designing ETL solutions for integrating Workday data into enterprise systems is highly desirable.
