Senior Data Analyst

To be responsible for providing support to data analytics as they relate to various data analytics projects. To assist the data analytics team relating to ETL and coding on various platforms. To lead on projects and support the data analytics team to deliver services and work products to meet and exceed client’s expectation and company standards.

Role tasks & responsibilities

• Participate in client meetings on project management, strategy, and deliverables
• Enhance current techniques through open source tools
• Develop and implement innovative machine learning capabilities based on client objectives
• Train skills related to advanced coding skills (for example NLP / general machine learning) to data analytics members
• Organize and interrogate electronic data to assess completeness and appropriateness for analysis
• Participate and occasionally lead in internal discussions on project deliverables
• Identify and understand relationships between multiple data sources and types
• Create and design data queries and procedures through scripts and codes to address client requests and project strategies
• Analyse and interpret financial, operational, and transactional data
• Create and maintain documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and information sources throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

Essential:

• 2-4 years in SQL and Python/R especially in developing code for automation and machine learning for large volumes of structured and unstructured data
• 2-4 years in ETL processes, manipulating large amounts of complex data, normalizing disparate datasets
• Experience in interfacing (consulting) directly with clients (both remotely or on-site) for the purposes of analytics requirements gathering and delivery.
• Familiarity with risk-based projects including (but not limited to) fraud, risk management, compliance, investigations, internal audit
• Experience working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment

Preferred:

•  Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study
• Advanced knowledge and experience with platforms such as (but not limited to) SQL and Python to solve complex client requirements
• Experience with large volumes of financial ERP data (for example, but not limited to General Ledger, Accounts Payable)
• Advanced knowledge and experience with open software and database applications
• Familiarity with data visualisation software including (but not limited to) Microsoft Power BI, Tableau
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while effectively juggle competing demands and evolving priorities
• Strong client facing, communication (fluency in English) and project management skills
• Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and motivation to succeed
