About the role:
The Senior Data Analyst supports the Maple Grove Materials Management functional teams as an integral member of the Business Process & Analytics (BP&A) team in the development of analytics by bringing together data from different sources and functions to provide metrics and insights that improve the quality, cost, and delivery goals for Manufacturing Operations. The role requires collaboration with local, regional, and global business partners as well as Boston Scientific IT teams to build, optimize, and monitor the foundational data assets in a dynamically changing environment to support business initiatives through descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics. The role is fast paced, innovative, challenging yet rewarding, where you are the “hero” for many complex problems.
BP&A Team Purpose Statement: We exist to provide SAP, project, and data/analytic expertise to Materials Management and Operations that enables rapid and confident decision velocity, continuous improvement, and collective advancement.
Your responsibilities include:
- Help build processes and capabilities that will enable the delivery of new descriptive and diagnostic analytics followed by more advanced tools and technologies like machine learning, workflows, and optimization to unlock predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- Work collaboratively with our business partners at varying levels to identify current pain points, troubleshoot, and design analytical solutions considering current business processes, systems, and data by enabling consumption through visualization tools like Tableau and PowerBI.
- Lead the technical support for Key Materials Mgt. Processes – SI&OP, Production Planning & Scheduling, Purchasing, MRP, Master Data Mgt and Inventory optimization.
- Deliver excellent customer support through core team involvement in projects requiring system data and technical understanding.
- Monitor information systems for opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy and make recommendations for implementation of new systems or necessary upgrades that will best meet customer and company requirements.
- Drive processes to ensure data integrity and consistency across SAP, Rapid Response, MES, HANA and other supporting systems.
- Ensure that appropriate training is provided on the analytics solutions being delivered to ensure appropriate usage.
- Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance, and offering counsel.
- Represent the BP&A group by helping shape and deliver the functional and site strategic data governance roadmap.
- Potentially engage in complex corporate projects, tasks, and timelines to ensure Maple Grove is represented and contributing where necessary.
- May lead multiple project activities simultaneously where prioritization skills are critical.
- Engaged in the team’s Lean Business Process objectives to provide continuous improvement and savings through overhead reduction.
- Support a work environment of continuous improvement in line with BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and appropriate regulations for the areas supported.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, or similar technical degree
- Minimum of 3 years experience with advanced analytic techniques and data science, >5 years in the space overall.
- Experience with big data programming languages and technologies (i.e. Python, SQL, AWS Athena, etc.)
- Experience managing data analytics implementation and reporting projects.
- Able to effectively translate technical information across multiple functions and levels.
- Must be able to work in an agile environment with hybrid capacity to work from home or onsite to accommodate business demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Analytical with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; process-driven
- Experience with Agile and Lean methodologies
- Experience with operating cloud data warehouses or data lake (e.g., Snowflake, AWS)
- Experience with order processing flows, warehousing equipment and software, data-science, and performance analytics
- General understanding of supply chain planning and execution.
- Organized with effective project management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a virtual setting.
- Working knowledge of data analytic systems and tools (i.e. SAP, GSR, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.)
- The job may require 5-10% travel to visit BSC manufacturing sites, conferences, and flexible schedule to accommodate multiple time zones.
