The Gist
The mission of the Data & Analytics team is to lead Lagunitas into becoming a data-driven company and the best-connected brewer. As a team, we cultivate a data-driven entrepreneurial culture to the rest of the organization. We act as an incubator for smart data products and problem-solving business intelligence in all areas of business – from sales to logistics, and from marketing to finance. The Data & Analytics team is a multi-disciplined team that works pro-actively to identify business opportunities.
Our team consists of Data Engineers, a BI Analyst, and a Master Data Analyst. Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst plays a crucial role in collaborating with the various business leaders to identify and translate opportunities into actionable recommendations and dashboards. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for driving the different business functions to make data-driven decisions and maximize the value we create for our customers. What You’ll Do
Data Analysis
- Collaborate with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including business leaders, to identify data needs and requirements.
- Translate business questions into analytical and BI solutions, sometimes by creating Power BI dashboards but also by training the business functions on building Power BI by themselves.
- Closely consult with the data engineering team to deliver the data needed (from new sources) to deliver high value data analytics products.
- Present ideas and insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Educate and train colleagues on the availability of data and visualization tools.
- Identify, research and resolve complex technical problems to ensure that our analytical solutions enhance business decision making capabilities.
- Lead the transition to intelligent and recommendable dashboards and translating data & insight into business strategy.
- Hands-on support for developing Power BI dashboards.
- Build self-service data models.
Leadership
- Liaise with key business functions to ensure all initiatives are directed towards areas of maximum profitable revenue or cost savings.
- Works independently or collectively to develop ideas and lead or contribute to initiatives that will support the functions and the leadership team.
- Design and implement analytics solutions that will achieve the highest value for our customers and Lagunitas.
- Help grow the data & analytics team by creating a pipeline of initiatives that will yield a return on investment for the company.
- Evangelize a way of working within the company that is focused on value creation, structure, and reliability.
- Keep up to date with Heineken, industry, and competitor trends.
- Lead Lagunitas in the transition to advanced analytics and data science.
- Collaborate with the data quality manager and data engineer to ensure efficient value delivery.
- Facilitate the way of working for delivering BI solutions, by leading our community with BI ambassadors from the business.
What We’re Lookin’ For
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or Business with strong data-related focus. A master’s degree is preferred.
- You have between 3 and 7 years of hands-on experience in business intelligence and data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with developing a company’s BI capability to a mature state.
- Deep understanding of (descriptive) analytics use-cases in FMCG industry; understanding of predictive use cases preferred.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing and data modelling.
- Deep understanding of data mining, big data analytics and reporting (and related tooling, e.g., SQL, Power BI, etc.)
- Familiarity with Azure.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with leaders across the business.
- Project management skills to complete data projects until completion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with an eye for detail.
- Experience with Agile way of working.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and team members located in different geographies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in FMCG/large industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
- Passion for data and love to work in teams.
