Senior Data Analyst
Job Description
Report to: Head of Consulting
What will you do
- Communicate with clients and colleagues to understand business needs, then define data requirements and collection methods based on this
- Turn high-level business objectives into data analysis goals, hypotheses and questions to explore
- Explain results by identifying key drivers and suggest actions to address any issues
- Segment data in meaningful ways to gain a deeper understanding of behavior across different user groups
- Help clients validate future requirements and prioritize backlogs based on user data
- Analyze user journeys/funnels to identify drop off points, ideate potential improvements then run experiments to test these
- Perform exploratory data analysis and review mining to identify potential enhancements for client products
- Perform competitor and market data analysis based on public data sources to identify other opportunity areas
- Help define product success metrics based on client goals, then break these down into key input metrics to track and optimize
- Define and maintain a data taxonomy for each product to ensure we track the right metrics and achieve a consistent understanding across teams
- Test analytics implementations to ensure tracking is configured as expected
- Compare and analyze tools to recommend the right data and mar-tech stack to meet specific business needs and guide clients on how to get more value from the tools they are already using.
- Create and maintain dashboards to monitor key statistics across all projects
- Help us back-up our recommendations with evidence and visualize data in compelling ways that support our storytelling
- Communicate insights to business users, breaking down technical concepts into easy-to-understand language
- Document learnings and systemize processes into playbooks that others can follow
What will you need
- Must have :
- Experience using a range of data and mar-tech tools (eg. product analytics, install attribution, marketing automation, CDP, market intelligence)
- Excellence in at least one of these analytics tools: Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA etc.
- A team player who is proactive, self-managed, curious, and with creative problem solving ability.
- Good understanding of statistics and data modeling techniques
- A product mindset – able to understand business requirements and user needs to recommend what to analyze
- Considered a plus :
- Familiar with product optimization processes (A/B testing)
- Experience in at least one of these: SQL, BigQuery, Hive, Spark or Databricks
- Knowledge in Python or Scala
- Knowledge in Google cloud platform / AWS data platform
- Experience with business intelligence tools like PowerBI
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
