Job Description Summary:
Do you want a highly impactful role within a team that is growing fast? Expedia Group’s Global Regulatory and Data Sharing team is looking for a high-energy, motivated individual to support a portfolio of regulatory initiatives. We are looking for someone who will facilitate outstanding data driven and strategic methodologies, coordinating across a diverse, globally distributed team to ensure that Expedia Group can quickly assess risk and understand the impact of new global regulations.
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will maintain strong alignment with regional Government Affairs, Legal and Commerical teams to ensure our response to evolving global regulatory requirements are proactive, data driven and effectively communicated across stakeholders at Expedia Group. You will be on a team of global leaders who collaborate with global Legal and Government Affairs teams to identify regulatory trends and understand the impact of existing and future regulatory requirements. The Regulatory Insights team will utilize these findings to develop business cases for new capabilities at Expedia Group that would reduce risk and protect revenue.

What you’ll do:

Collaborate across multiple teams at Expedia Group including Government Affairs, Legal, Product, Performance and other relevant teams to analyze risk and drive successful regulatory outcomes.

Work cross-functionally to gather & synthesize relevant data to develop recommendations on global regulations that align with company-wide strategic initiatives.

Maintain a high attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple, contending priorities simultaneously

Frame regulatory impact and opportunities in a structured, analytical way to clearly communicate options, risks, and trade-offs to leadership.
Who you are:

Excellent quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills and an ability to translate metrics, research and trends into viable recommendations.

Experience with end-to-end management and ownership of high-priority initiatives and comfortable working on multiple initiatives concurrently.

Fast learner and self-starter, comfortable working in ambiguity, with strong strategic and critical thinking skills.

Ability to make sound business decisions by combining several factors to arrive at the best outcome for a given situation; ability to create a compelling narrative using data and insights and share with a broader audience

Have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate issues and influence others, including experience communicating complex information to senior leaders

Experience working cross-culturally with ability to adapt personal style to different teams, environments, and time zones
Keys to Success in the Role:

Moving quickly and deliberately, using data to guide decisions.

Ability to create SQL queries from scratch and extract large quantities of data.

Being able to simplify the SQL queries and optimize the performance to reduce runtime.

Creating the data visualizations using Tableau Desktop and create dashboards that drive the conversations and help decision making process.

Building complex charts with limited supervision.
