Senior Data Architect

We are looking for a Senior Data Architect to join our India pre-sales Solution Architect team. The right candidate is accountable for pursuits and designing, developing, related to implementing the overall data architecture and data solutions for an organization. This role involves analysing data requirements, defining data models, and working with the relevant stakeholders to ensure the integrity, security, and availability of data assets. The Senior Data Architect will work across multiple teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective data strategies and solutions using cloud hyperscaler, 3rd party COTS and Open source data products.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design of robust, scalable, and secure data solutions, using technical expertise.
• Strong technical leadership skills around Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, Data architecture, Data Modeling, Data Lake, Data Analysis, Extract, transform and Load (ETL), Data Quality, Data Governance, Data/ Application Migration, Master Data / Reference Data Management, Meta Data Management and Data Privacy.
• Lead and apply best practice to Data Modeling, Data Mapping, Data Anomalies, and Data Discrepancies analysis.
• Architect and design data analysis applications that interface with a variety of large scale enterprise applications on large volume dataset.
• Designing overall company data architecture using enterprise data entities and models. Collecting and managing project data elements and attributes in metadata dictionaries and repositories
• Familiarity with tools such as Redshift, NoSQL databases, Snowflake, Cloudera, Databricks etc
• Identifies, analyses, identifies opportunities, and resolves inefficiencies in the data design of the organisation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, oversee data architecture, develop data-centric solutions, ensure compliance, and optimize performance to enable data-driven decision-making within an organisation.
• Develop and maintain the organisation’s data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Work with the relevant stakeholders to design and implement data integration, migration, and consolidation strategies to ensure seamless data flow across systems and applications.
• Work with the relevant stakeholders to define data retention, system decommissioning and archiving policies and processes.
• Work with relevant stakeholders to define data governance policies, data quality standards, and data management best practices.
• Evaluate and select appropriate data management technologies, tools, and platforms to support the organisation’s data architecture and objectives.
• Collaborate with database administrators, data engineers, and other technical teams to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of data systems.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to data management, analytics, and data security.
• Provide guidance and support to development teams in implementing data-related solutions and adhering to data architecture standards.
• Document data architecture designs, data flows, and data integration processes for reference and future maintenance.
• Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

• Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, data modelling techniques, and database design concepts.
• Proficiency in data integration technologies, such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data consolidation strategies.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data security, and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results within specified deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, contributing to their success
• Problem-solving and analytical skills to safeguard data integrity, security, and organization
• Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and experience implementing data protection measures
• Solid knowledge of data modelling techniques, data warehousing concepts, and database management systems
• Good understanding of data governance, data integration, and data management best practices
• Proficient in SQL and experience with database development and performance optimization
• Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field
• Certification in data management or related areas (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional) is a plus

Required Experience:

• Advanced experience working as a Data Architect or in a similar role
• Advanced experience with data management tools, database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), and data warehousing concepts, predictive analytics, data visualization and unstructured data
• Advanced experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
