Job Description

As a Senior Data Engineer at JLL Technologies, you will be directly responsible for

  • Working with our leaders to find new and creative ways to use data to create value for our business
  • Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining data warehouses, ETL workflows, reporting cubes and reports on the Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Business Intelligence platforms
  • Working in evergreen scrum teams to develop and support the back-end components of assigned products; communicate with business stakeholders for requirements gathering, testing and support resolution.
  • Working with project manager/solution architect to define scope, technical specifications, and effort estimates for new projects and services.

Education and experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required
  • (8+) years of relevant/professional experience is required
  • Good understanding of data modelling and data warehouse design and development
  • Expertise in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt modeling methods from case studies or other proven approaches
  • Build data systems and pipelines
  • Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling
  • Experience with ETL design and development using Azure Data Factory/Azure Databricks
  • Strong command of relational databases and SQL. Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data into a relational database.
  • Proficiency with Python or R, especially for data manipulation and analysis, and ability to build, maintain and deploy sequences of automated processes with these tools.
  • General data manipulation skills: read in data, process and clean it, transform and recode it, merge different data sets together, reformat data between wide and long, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear code that is well-documented and stored in a version control system
  • Experience in Agile development with Sprint Cycles and modern CICD Process
  • Good knowledge of software design patterns and software engineering best practices
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.

Advantageous to have:

  • Report development skills using Power BI
  • Dashboard and user interface design sensibilities
