Senior Data Engineer* (Digital Solutions Product Supply)
As Senior Data Engineer* you will be working together with other data management professionals, business representatives, data platform teams and source system owners. You will be part of a team responsible for data management for digital solutions along the manufacturing and supply chain value chain. Our mission is to enable innovation as well as stability by providing data access, data integration and data quality management.
Your responsibilities are:
- Implement modular and scalable data pipelines in the cloud, including documentation and validation
- Define, implement, and monitor compliance to technical standards (for data)
- Advise on best practices for data ingestion
- Design integrated target data models that can be used by business data consumers
- Provide support in cleansing data
- Clarify, define, and automate the harvesting of data lineage
- Support applications and platforms to enable effective data sharing
- Coordinate between business-driven data demands and source system representatives
What you have to offer:
Proven expert experience in three or more of:
- AWS cloud data technologies (e.g., AWS S3, DMS, Glue, Athena, Redshift) and IaC-based cloud engineering (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)
- Designing and optimizing schemas and queries (SQL)
- ETL using Python or integration tools (e.g., AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, Microsoft SSIS, or similar)
- A good practical understanding of software development practices like refactoring, design patterns, CI/CD (e.g., GitHub)
- Data modeling (e.g., dimensional, star schema) and data modelling tools
What you also provide:
- 5+ years of experience working in software/data engineering positions
- Experience developing software in regulated environments (i.e., GxP) and knowledge of industry data standards (e.g., IDMP, ISA 95/88) is a plus
- Presentation skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus.
