Job Description

Oracle Fusion AI team is seeking an experienced Data Scientist that wants to help us build the next generation of Artificial Intelligence Applications across generative and classic AI using Oracle Cloud. The applications will use data from Oracle’s Data Cloud from multiple tenants and other sources to drive automated outcomes in several horizontal and vertical application segments, across HR, supply chain, customer experience and finance. This is an exciting and fast-growing team within Oracle, leveraging the latest technology in the mobile, big data, AI and cloud application spaces.

The ideal candidate is expected to have a bias for excellence, strong experience in Machine Learning (3-6 years) and be comfortable with closely collaborating with other teams in Oracle such as engineering, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) & Fusion Cloud operations. Among other things the selected candidate will be: 

  • Expected to fetch information from various sources and generate value for better understanding the data to non-technical and technical stakeholders.
  • Be comfortable at all stages of the product development lifecycle – from rapid prototyping using emerging technologies to analysing customer outputs to supporting and scaling products.
  • Generate ML models based on such data and develop or select the appropriate and most efficient algorithm for the given problem.
  • Work with the engineering team to ensemble such models and deliver world-class AI applications, with a passion for merging data science with dev ops.

  • Develop and maintain a set of frameworks, APIs, and tools on top of several libraries for faster ML research to production lifecycle.
  • Build and integrate end-to-end lifecycles of large-scale applications using distributed machine learning systems.
  • Develop scalable tools and services for handling machine learning training and predictions.
  • Collaborate with multiple product groups to deploy the ML platform system.
  • Solve complex data and system problems at scale to achieve sub-second throughput in the ML platform systems.
  • Identify and evaluate new patterns and technologies to improve the performance, maintainability, and elegance of our machine learning systems.
  • Provide tooling to help ML practitioners evaluate, debug, and improve ML models.
  • Apply software engineering rigor on ML (CI/CD, automation, etc.)
  • Develop software using Agile methodologies and participate as a member of scrum development teams.
