Job Description

The NVIDIA Operations organization is seeking an experienced technology professional for the position of Senior Data Scientist to support initiatives for the Sourcing function in Operations. As a Data Scientist on our team, you will be an integral part of the Data and Analytics organization in Operations that is building the Operations Data Platform to turn data into business insights and results. You will develop key models to develop insights that enable our business key users and management to drive business strategies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support implementation of the End-to-End Ops Data platform for the Sourcing function.

  • Build and deploy scalable data science algorithms by applying statistical analytics, Machine Learning (ML), Anomaly detection, and other techniques to enable supply planning.

  • Lead discussions with the Sourcing function to understand their needs and develop relevant solutions (ex: optimizing inventory, forecasting supply etc.) that is immediately adoptable

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets using structured/unstructured data techniques and apply supervised and unsupervised learning techniques

  • Acquire and apply domain knowledge of the product and software stack to identify and drive the resolution of data inconsistencies and improve model performance. Develop frameworks for data ingestion and processing

  • Present results and propose solutions and strategies to solve problems business challenges. Build visualization tools and reports.

What we need to see:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer science, Operations Research, Statistics or related quantitative field (or equivalent experience)

  • 8+ years of experience

  • Demonstrable Experience as Data Scientist with solid background knowledge and practical experience in probability, statistics, predictive performance, and AI/ML. Significant applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.

  • Outstanding coding skills, including the ability to write readable, testable, maintainable and extensible code (primarily SQL and Python). Knowledge of common tools for data storage and processing (e.g. Spark, Hadoop Map/Reduce, Hive, Cassandra) including drilling into problems of running large scale software in a big network

  • Proven hands on experience in data cleaning, aggregation, transformation and extraction. Experience of time series analysis. Experience in active ML production pipelines(MlFlow, KubeFlow)

  • Machine Learning – knowledge of machine learning methods like k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, Deep Learning and an understanding of how to use pre-trained models for different cases

  • Superb Interpersonal Skills – Need to articulate findings to a technical and non-technical audience. Problem-solving proficiency and analytical mind and great business sense

The base salary range is 160,000 USD – 247,250 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
